Royal British Columbia Museum -10 minute walk...

The museum is one of the centrepieces of Victoria's tourist industry as well as a favourite of many locals, both children and adults. It includes numerous native artifacts, such as totem poles, clothing, and masks; an IMAX theatre; life-sized models of local wildlife in their respective environments (such as a towering wooly mammoth); and a simulated journey to thedepths of the ocean. In addition it also often hosts touring exhibits from around the world.
In recent years these exhibits have included Leonardo da Vinci, Dinosaurs, Egyptian artifacts and Genghis Khan. Current & Upcoming events at the Museum

Beacon Hill Park ...well laid out great children's Zoo - 15 minute walk.
Beacon Hill Park is a 75 ha (200 acre) park located along the shore of Juan de Fuca Strait in Victoria, British Columbia. The park is popular both with tourists and locals, and contains a number of amenities including woodland and shoreline trails, a playground, playing fields, a petting zoo, and landscaped gardens.
The park is notable for a few human-made features, as well. Most prominent is the world's fourth-largest totem pole - a 38.8 m work carved by Kwakwaka'wakw craftsman Mungo Martin, and erected in 1956. Beacon Hill Park is also home to the Cameron Bandshell, which hosts concerts thoughout the spring, summer, and fall. Finally, the southwestern tip of the park contains "Mile 0" of the Trans-Canada Highway.

The buildings face north on Belleville street facing the inner harbour and diagonally across from The Empress Hotel. A large statue of Queen Victoria lies on its front lawn as well a statue of a soldier to commemorate the province's World War 1, World War 2 and Korean War dead. Atop the central dome is a gold-covered statue of Captain George Vancouver. Free tours of the facility are offered throughout the week.

Maritime Museum
...for the sea faring land lubbers Bastion Square - 20 minute walk
The museum is located in the historic 1889 Provincial Law Courts building, situated in Bastion Square, close to the inner harbour. The "Tilikum", a large Indian canoe, is the center piece of the collection.

Art Gallery of Victoria
...collection of 15,000 objets d'art.
The Art Gallery of Greater Victoria is a Canadian art gallery located in Victoria, British Columbia. Opened in 1951, the gallery possesses notable works by artists such as Emily Carr, and has one of Canada's most significant collections of Asian art. An Asian garden located on the gallery grounds includes the only authentic Japanese Shinto shrine in North America.
